Campus Life Resources

  • Campus Shuttle - The shuttle is provided to link the Lawrenceville and the Princeton campuses together for both academic and social needs.  Copies of the shuttle schedule can be obtained from the Office of Campus Life on the Lawrenceville Campus and the Associate Dean of Students Office on the Princeton Campus.  The Spring 2009 schedule can be found by here.  The Fall 2009 schedule will be available by August.

  • Emerging Leaders Program - The Emerging Leaders program offers all new students an opportunity to become involved in campus life and begin to develop the leaderships skills needed to be successful in a professional career.  As a first year Emerging Leader, you will network with fellow new students while also connecting with key student leaders, alumni, staff and faculty.  You will design and implement major student social events and become recognized as a significant student leader among your peers.  There are Emerging Leaders classes at both Rider’s Campuses.

  • Off Campus Living - Various resources are available for students who live off campus or maybe be planning on moving off campus.  These resources include listing of available off campus housing, apartment comparison sheets, essentials to off campus living, and ride share listings.

  • Ticket Booth – The Office of Campus Life operates a ticket booth on the Lawrenceville campus on the 2nd floor of the Student Recreation Center.  The ticket booth hours are 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  You can sign up for various trips and intramural programs and purchase tickets for arts and cultural programs, as well as concerts and comedians at the Campus Life ticket booth.  Student organizations can utilize the ticket booth for their own event sign ups and ticket sales.  You can contact the ticket booth at 609.896.5303.

  • Community Service Opportunities – Service is an important aspect of Campus Life at Rider.  Students or student groups that are looking for ways to give back and service the surrounding community, can contact Campus Life for ideas and connections.

  • Starting a New Club – If a club of interest is not available, students are encouraged to consider forming a new club.  The club recognition package is available with other forms/policies in the Office of Campus Life.  The Student Government Association is invested with the authority to recognize new organizations.

  • Event Planning – Campus Life staff are among the premier event planners on-campus.  Our staff is more than happy to assist your group in planning its next event or program.  In addition, Campus Life is charged with the implementation of the Student Event Management Policy.  This policy governs all student social events on-campus.  The Student Event Management Form must be completed before any student social event is confirmed.  The form can be picked up from the Office of Campus Life.

  • Approval of Postings – Those wishing to post information on campus must get approval from the Office of Campus Life.  Postings will only be approved for a two week period.  Materials cannot be affixed to walls, doors, glass surfaces, in bathrooms or elevators.  Postings in all campus buildings should be on designated bulletin boards.

  • Van Usage – The Office of Campus Life maintains 2 seven passenger mini vans for recognized student organizations and university departmental use.  These vans can only be operated by authorized drivers only.  To reserve a van or to learn more about becoming an authorized driver, please feel free to contact Campus Life at 609.896.5327.

  • Contract/Agreement Review – Before any student organization executes a contract or agreement with a individual, vendor, or agency, they must consult with a Campus Life staff member.  Students are prohibited from signing and executing a contract or agreement.

  • The NJ Transit Quik-Tik Student Discount Program - NJ Transit recently informed Rider that they are discontinuing our pass by mail programs, including Quik-Tik, Mail-Tik and StudentPass . However, in response to customer feedback an internal review was conducted by NJ TRANSIT’s Customer Advocate. The result is a trial program allowing for the continuation of all monthly pass by mail programs. Customers will have the option of continuing in the program by agreeing to a nominal $3.00 processing fee. After a 12-month trial period, NJ TRANSIT will evaluate customer participation and determine whether to extend the program.

Effective with the mailing of September monthly passes, this non-refundable $3.00 processing fee will be applied each month, in addition to the regular fare for the pass. Customers who wish to avoid the processing charge will have the opportunity to opt out of the program and purchase their pass from NJ TRANSIT ticket vending machines or ticket offices. To opt out of the program, simply cancel your account before August 10, 2009.
