Rider University to Host Online Safety Presentation

Rider University will host an online safety issues presentation on Tuesday, March 3, at 7 p.m. in the Bart Luedeke Center Theater on the Lawrenceville campus, 2083 Lawrenceville Road. David Szuchman, director of the Division of Consumer Affairs, Office of the Attorney General, will address topics such as social networking sites and cyber-harassment.

“I think in today’s highly technological world, cyber harassment and bullying has become more prevalent,” Tony Campbell, dean of students, said. “Students have to be better informed about their rights and the remedies available to them if they become victims of cyber abuse.”

Szuchman will be joined by Laurie Goodman, chief investigator for Internet Safety at the Division of Consumer Affairs, and Lt. Keith Halton, assistant bureau chief of the New Jersey State Police Computer Crimes and High Tech Surveillance Bureau. The event is free and open to the public.
